Dereel

Google maps has released new higher resolution satellite imagery for Dereel, it's a great way to explore the neighbourhood and stay dry.

I've document how I just upgraded my mum's broadband from satellite to 3G which improved her latency, speed and more importantly gave her 6 times as much quota for the same price. You can read all about it on the westonwire blog.

The Golden Plains Shire is seeking expressions of interest from local residents who would like to help manage the hall and the community centre.

Expressions of interest should respond to the following criteria. Ability to:

• represent the interests of the local community


• promote access to and use of the hall and community centre


• contribute to effective management of the facility

The Dereel and Surrounding Communities (D.A.S.C.) Men's Shed Inc. are holding a family 60/40 dance in the Dereel Hall on the 2nd of October 2010 between 7.30pm and 11.30pm. Everyone is welcome.

There will be a live band (Steve & Alan, "The two of us") and entry will be by gold coin donation. BYO food and drink (tea and coffee will be provided).

There will also be donated goods for sale with proceeds going to the men's shed, come and show your support!
